Beautiful vintage costume jewelry, designer signed and unsigned, 1920's - 1960', gorgeous ladies' accessories, vintage vanity, home decor from Victorian to Art Deco, Paris Apartment to Hollywood Regency, French Country to Shabby Chic...I love it all!

My name is Kathleen, and I have been in business for myself,  for 28 years.   Along the way, I graduated from the New York School of Design and Merchandising, and spent a number of years in film doing costuming and makeup.

Wherever I traveled throughout the world I was always attracted to the beauty of antiques...marveling at the workmanship and beauty of each item.  As the years went by I decided to take  all that I had learned through my education, my background in film, and my travels, and  set out on my own to build a business in the world of antiques, and decorative arts.

I started the business with the parent company CHANTECLAIR, presenting pre-1900 textiles, flow blue and 1850-1960's accessories (jewelry, French silk purses, perfumes, and dresser-top decor). Eventually I added antique home decor, garden and lighting.

I have conducted my business through both a store (which I eventually closed),  and traveling across the Western states doing antique shows.

Times have changed and the "Age of Technology" is definitely here!  So I have decided to "join the world" with the development of a new division...A PLACE OF DISTINCTION. Here I will be able share with you all of the things that I love.

Over the years I have enjoyed a reputation of carrying upscale and fine quality merchandise, never settling for anything less than the best, and always putting my customer first.  As I embark on this adventure of the internet,  I will continue my commitment to quality of merchandise and customer satisfaction.  The internet tends to be a cold place, so it is my hope to make this site a pleasurable and fun site where you will enjoy visiting and shopping.

Welcome to A PLACE OF DISTINCTION.  Enjoy yourself, and I look forward to hearing from each of you along the way!
