Hand-carved shell cameo in nicely raised relief with lots of detailed carving depicts a lovely woman with drop earrings, pearls and flowers in her hair and a floral corsage. A high-quality piece, this is a generously-sized, hand-carved shell cameo brooch measuring approximately 1-3/4 x 1-1/2" in a stylized 12K gold filled bezel with a safety closure that also has a hidden bale so that it can be worn as a pendant as well. In Excellent Condition, this beautiful cameo brooch pin is signed "PR.ST.CO" for Providence Stock Company of Providence, Rhode Island. The company was in business between 1890 and 1950. We believe this cameo brooch dates Ca. 1940. A beauty!
