Stunning...Stunning...Stunning......What else is there to say?! This a beautiful, all original, and rare set!

 The Schiaparelli name is synonymous with style and design. Elsa Schiapareli is credited with bringing color to fashion, especially her "shocking pink"!

While it is believed that Schiapareli did not do most of her designs, her input was there every step of the way. Who were her designers?...Cardin, Givenchy, and Jean Schlumberger, who was responsible for some of her most popular designs, and who eventually became vice president of Tiffany's.

Her retro pieces were among the most popular, and highly sought after, and this set is no exception.

This brooch measures 3" wide x 2" high and consists of magnificent amethyst, pale lavender, and sapphire blue colored open-backed crystals in the shape of kites, all in varying sizes. Goldtone-framed from the underside, these kites seem to be floating across this brooch with no visible support. Accenting these crystals are beautiful shimmering lavender aurora borealis chatons. The open backs of each crystal gives this brooch a beautiful luminescence.

The clipback earrings are a smaller duplication of the brooch. They fit very flat to the ear and measure 1" wide x 1-1/2" high.

The brooch is marked "Schiaparelli" in script on a cartouche. The letters are a little run together, so I double checked under a 10x magnifier, and the "i" (before the "a") is definitely there. (Note: The "i" is missing in pieces that are reproduced). The earrings are marked "Schiaparelli" with "Pat.156452" marked additionally on the earring clips. "Schiaparelli" in script was used from 1949 to 1955. Aurora borealis crystals were first used in 1955, so this dates these pieces 1955.

These pieces are the originals, and in excellent condition! Every point of each kite crystals is perfect. There are no nicks or chips.

This is an amazing set and a must for the serous collector!
