Early silver mesh bag by the best - Whiting Davis & Co. It measures 8-3/4" length from frame to end of tassel and is 2-1/2" wide at the lower end of the frame. The frame is delicately engraved with tiny flowers and leaves. The catch at the top is a single blue glass stone. Handle is 6" long x 1/4" wide and has a slide mechanism to enable it to fit the lady's wrist while she's dancing or otherwise engaged. This is a fine mesh and when opened is signed on the frame Whiting Davis Co., Soldered Mesh and Patent dates 1920 and 1921. This is a beautiful bag and has been well cared for over the years. I do not believe it is sterling silver and didn't want to risk damage to test it. However, most of these bags were marked if they are sterling.
