She's beautiful and she's perfect ! For your dresser or anywhere for a bit of soft femininity - 9" high lovely women with a lace mantilla figurine is done in outstanding soft pastels with dipped porcelain lace, dusty pink roses and tiny corseted bodice. In very good condition and difficult to get that way - usually some of the lace or petals have serious chipping. This one does not. . She is signed on the bottom Cordelia and I believe was made by Cordey Porcelain.
Cordey China Company was fonded in 1942 in Flemington, NY By Polish immigrant Boleslaw Cybis.Fewer than a dozen skilled artists made elegant lamps and figurines that sold both nationwide and abroad.
Pieces were often delicate figurines with ruffles and rocco accents using a process where real lace was dripped in a liquified clay for a dresden like effect. These were highly prized and are still very collectible. Not all pieces were signed but they are usually well recognizeable. Difficult to find in perfect condition due to the fragility of the applied ornamentation but sought after even with minor damage.
