Victorian paste ring in 14K rolled gold bears the manufacturer's mark of Clark & Curry with two C's in triangles separated by an ampersand. The Clark & Curry manufacturing jewelers operated between 1838 and 1842. The company was owned by Joseph Clark and William Curry in Boston, Massachusetts. This lovely ring has a central face that measures approximately 1/2" round composed of a central round, paste stone surrounded by smaller paste stones with a lovely heart-shaped motif. The ring is a standard Size 6-1/2. The ring has lovely chasing on the underneath of the setting and is marked with the manufacturer's symbol as well as the statement that is is 14K rolled gold. In Excellent Condition, although as would be expected the stones show their patina of age and inherent spots always present in antique paste stones, we think this is a remarkable Pre Civil War ring that would make a meaningful engagement ring or gift that is over 170 years old!
