Item Description:
Art Deco 10K filigree ring features a central faceted simulated ruby in a beautiful hexagon shape. It has two yellow gold accents on the white gold filigree on either side of the stone. The face of the ring is approximately 5/8" tall and approximately 1/2" wide. The ring is a Size 7-1/2 and can easily be sized if necessary. The ring is marked OB 10K with a Maltese Cross on the inside. We believe this to be the mark of Ostby & Barton Company of Providence, R.I. According to Rainwater's, "American Jewelry Manufacturers" this manufacturer was founded by Englehart C. Ostby and Nathan B. Barton in 1879 and grew become one of the largest ring manufacturers in the world. Ostby perished in the famed Titanic sinking although his daughter, also a passenger, survived.
