Though this piece is unmarked, it may as well be, I have no doubt that this is a late 1940's Coro trembler brooch! Everything characteristic of Coro is there except the signature. The brooch measures 1-1/4" wide x 2-3/4" long. Three stems (one of which is pave rhinestone set) sweep up to a cluster of leaves. These beautiful open-center leaves alternate being pave rhinestone set and green enameled. The smaller leaves holding the flower are pave set, and the petals of the flower are gold vermiel with a very fine stripe of pave rhinestones. Nestled in the center of the open flower is a trembling stamen with five clear rhinestone navettes and a pale yellow chaton. The trembling spring is perfect. The piece is gold vermiel on the front and silver on the back. It is so difficult to find a trembler that is in beautiful condition. Due to age, there are a few small discolored stones in the stripe of the petals, but they only add to the patina of this wonderful brooch!. This piece looks beautiful as the gold and pave stones catch the light, giving it subtle elegance. This brooch will be a fabulous addition to a collection, and is a piece that look stunning on jacket, coat or sweater. To order, please click on the blue "ADD TO CART" button at top right.
