Panetta was known for its quality jewelry and design. This gorgeous pendant necklace typifies the period and the designer in its bold design, use of materials and scale. The pendant is also a pin that measures approximately 4-1/8 x 2-1/2" with a molded faux jade Buddah face appointed with a faux pearl embedded at the area of the "third eye". The Buddah face measures approximately 1-3/4 x 1-1/4" and is set into a modernistic textured, rich goldtone setting. The piece is so well-made that it includes a piece that slides over the pinstem so that one would not lose the brooch even if the safety catch became unfastened. There is a rich, heavy goldtone textured chain that measures approximately 26" with a spring ring closure that fits through a loop at the back of the brooch so that it can be worn as a necklace. It is in Excellent Condition and signed "Panetta" with a copyright symbol on a rectangular plaque impressed into the mold of the reverse of the piece.
