Nautical Sailors Brass Lamp

Very unsual Nautical Lamp with two Sailors standing against a pole. or mast   We believe the lamp to be bronze with dark patina, but can't be sure.  Whatever it is a nice clean mold with the sailors in excellent detail.

The sailors are standing in a small boat, one with his hands in his pocket and a large knife hanging from his belt.  The other is holding a cigar.  Both are in 18th or early 19th century costume.  Going from the boat to the top of the pole are heavy twisted wires.

This lamp comes with a brass shade which we removed as it didn't cover the switch socket, however, we are including it. This shade is pictured above.  We had to replace the old electrical socket with a new pull socket and we replaced the frayed wiring with old type cord.  

Very unusual lamp and a must for the nautical collector.
