During the hot summer of 1775 a slim smallish young Scotsman made his way to Philadelphia where the Continental Congress was organzing revolution. Presenting himself to Congress he was given a commission and service as a First Lieutenant aboard the Glascow. Proving his worth in a sea battle he was given a ship of his. After that another and eventually the famous "Bonhomme Richard" ship named after Ben Franklin and acclaimed himself even more going up against a much bigger British ship which also outnumbered in guns. He overcame this disadvantage with the famous words "I have not yet begun to fight' and was victorious.
