From Rockwell's Young Ladies series- a collection of heirloom-quality porcelain dolls depicting young ladies from the classic Saturday Evening Post covers. Norman Rockwell's Check Up, a pigtailed miss "open's wide" to show her friends that she is expecting a visit from the tooth fairy. This painting appeared on the cover of Saturday Evening Post on September 7, 1957.
Recreated in fine bisque porcelain the lifelike detail of the real little girl Norman Rockwell painted. The doll's eyebrows and lashes have been delicately painted by hand. Her charming pigtails have been fashioned by hand, as have the perky pink bows securing them.
All of the charming detail of the attire worn by school girls in the 1950's is here. The red jumper...the pinafore with its ruffled hem...the fresh white slip and pantalettes peeping from beneath her skirt have all been tailored from the finest materials. Her costume is complete, right down to her white bobby socks and navy blue sneakers-even to the daisies for the teacher clutched tightly in her hand!
The doll is 12" tall, and the doll stand is included. This doll originally cost $95.
We have two of these dolls -- one with box and certificate and one with no box and certificate. They are $55 and $45 respectively. Designate in the shopping cart which one you wish to order. The doll with box and COA is on hold effective 11/21/06.
