Item Description:
This is a pretty little bracelet, small in size either for a child or someone with a very small wrist. The heart within the heart could probably be engraved with an initial if you wished, or left the way it is. It measures approximately 1 1/2" across x 3/8" high; the heart is about 5/8" high x 3/4" across at the widest part. It will expand to about 3 1/4" and the expansion is nice & tight. The inside of the band is marked "Made In U.S.A.; Carmen"; and what looks like "3X0730". Most of these type bracelets are gold filled and this one looks like it is; however, it is not marked. Any dark areas are from my photo setup and not on the bracelet. It is in very good condition other than a few very small light scratches. They were called "Sweetheart bracelets" as they were popular during the war and usually given as a gift from a soldier to his sweetheart. Most of these bracelets are circa 1940's. Information I found is that "Carmen" was made by the D. F. Briggs Company.
