Vintage Sterling Box, Islam Temple, San Francisco, 1922

This is an interesting little box with the crescent and sword, marked Sterling on the bottom of the box.  The top of the box has beading all around.  It opens and closes nicely.  I do not know what the metal is inside the box.  It has a small round mirror which is in very good condition other than a very small spot at the top. The white you see in the picture of the mirror is a reflection from my photo setup.  The inside also has two round slots for coins or makeup or pills?  There are a few small scratches on the bottom.  The inside has some darkness around the edges which I have not attempted to clean.  I have been unable to find another box like this on the internet, nor any information about it.   It measures  2 3/4" wide x 1 1/2" high.
