Music by: Marvin Hamlish This show, until recently (Cats), was the longest running on Broadway. A Chorus Line was developed as a result of a series of late night get-togethers in which performers shared their own stories. The show developed an unusual buzz while it was playing downtown and was eventually transferred to the Shubert Theater where it ran for 6137 performances.
