Item Description:
This is a very old Chinese turquoise necklace that is old store stock from a chic, high-end jewelry boutique off Michigan Avenue in Chicago that closed in the 1960s. The store carried all types of quality antique, vintage and contemporary (to its time) jewelry and unusual and exotic accessories from all over the world. This outstanding necklace features Chinese figures that are intricately assembled from brass and genuine turquoise stones. It measures approximately 18 x 1-3/8" and has an S-hook and chain closure. We have dated it Ca. 1950, but it may be something the owner of the shop purchased as an antique in her travels.
